OFFICE OF MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS: LGBTQ OPEN HOUSE MONDAY AND LAVGRAD OPPORTUNITY
Before heading to the TRANS INCLUSION FORUM TOMORROW be sure to stop by the Satow Room on Lerner to learn more about LGBT student groups on campus and what the OMA is doing! I’ll be there for the first hour-ish, in case anybody wants a buddy. It would also be good to go to the event just to meet Chris Woods, the new Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs and LGBTQ Outreach at the OMA.
I’ve worked very closely with the OMA on a lot of LGBT student programming (Queer Awareness Month, Lavender Graduation, LGBT Leadership Retreat, among other events) and Chris is an important person to know if you are thinking about working in student programming.
Speaking of programming… Chris requesting that 1+ member(s) of Q join the Lavender Graduation Committee. LavGrad is one of the four OMA Graduation Programs that honors graduating seniors who are members of the community being celebrated; LavGrad is the graduation ceremony for LGBT seniors. I’ve been on the LavGrad planning committee for my past 3 years and it’s been a really great way for me to meet new people, honor the work of graduating seniors, and be a part of our larger LGBT community on campus. I highly recommend many of you think about this opportunity.
