SPRING FUNDRAISER BEGINS AT TONIGHT’S MEETING:

50¢/pin

patches (made last semester and made again in our next crafting meeting) will go on sale shortly!

2nd Annual Q Fundraiser for a local nonprofit begins tonight.  We will be raising money for Just Been Tested (JBT), the organization helped Q bring free HIV testing to campus last year.  We are also hoping that a Q member or friend will be interested in working with JBT in the future to bring HIV rapid test free to campus for students and community members.

Last year we raised over $300 for New Alternatives NYC in an effort coordinated by our Craft Chair Kelsie Mason, Treasurer Mark King, and President Lauren Malotra-Gaudet– crafted and tabled (across campuses) by over 20 general body members.  We are hoping to meet or exceed that goal to support JBT in their efforts to destigmatize HIV testing and promote actively knowing your status and getting regularly tested.  We also hope that with this financial support from Q JBT will be able to help colleges/universities and their surrounding communities provide testing and knowledge about HIV and other STIs.
