Here’s the message I received from the Associate Director of Civic Engagement at Career Development.  Seems like a great opportunity to do some great service work 🙂
Hello Student Leaders,
Yesterday, the application for Barnard’s civic engagement fellowship – the NYCCEP Fellowship – launched. The program is open to rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors; it’s a paid opportunity that provides great hands-on experience.
Seeing as you work with students who are very engaged here on campus in many different ways, I’d love if you could share the information below with your group.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

NYCCEP Fellowship:
The New York City Civic Engagement Program (“NYCCEP”) at Barnard College is seeking 3 to 5 rising Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors to participate in the NYCCEP Fellowship during the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters. Fellows will serve as civic engagement ambassadors at Barnard, both raising awareness about existing resources and programs as well as creating new opportunities to get students involved.

What is Civic Engagement?
NYCCEP defines “civic engagement” as direct service, philanthropy and fundraising, advocacy and activism, political participation, and research that contributes to sustainable solutions for social issues. We encourage students to find ways to integrate civic engagement into their field of interest and identify innovative ways to benefit society through their academic and professional work.

Funding & How to Apply:
Fellows will be paid $10 per hour for roughly 50 hours each semester. All applications are due by March 30th at 5:00pm. For more information, log on to NACElink and search for Job ID #25173. To access the application directly, please visit
